The web video clips on the Upbeat web site feature video vignettes of best practice from colleagues already involved in successful projects. These vignettes begin with a short description of the enterprise project and then explore the importance of three key human characteristics essential to any successful outreach project, Leadership, Management and Governance. The contributors then offer personal anecdotes that you might find useful.
Message boards
Beneath each vignette you'll find a message board to which all web site visitors are encouraged to contribute. We hope that learning from, and contributing to, these message boards will become an integral part of your routine as an Enterprising Academic.
Download for PowerPoint presentations
All of the filmed vignettes are available to download for inclusion into your PowerPoint presentation if you find this helpful.
Finding your way around this site
To move around the site select a category link at the top or bottom of the page. The category pages contain video clips of the responses from our Academic Entrepreneurs. Once on the category page you can view the individual vignettes by simply clicking on the contributor’s image, the video will play automatically in a new page though it may take a second or two to download and play. A text rollover giving a flavour of the vignette will appear as you move your mouse over the images on the page.
We recommend that you get started by clicking on the introduction tab above, which will take you to an overview of the UPBEAT project and a brief synopsis of the sections from Professor James Powell, the Upbeat project leader.
Finally if you get lost and want to go back to the homepage, simply click on the ‘Upbeat’ link in blue at the top left of the page.
